Every child is an individual with their own thoughts, wants and needs. Every child should be seen and treated as such – with who they are mattering the most. With education becoming increasingly standardised, we risk more and more children slipping through the cracks simply because people are not meant to fit into boxes.
That is why I started Academic Hope – so every child can have the best possible chance in education, in a way that works for them, with them.
At Academic Hope, Doing things Differently is embraced as a source of strength.
Academic Hope provides personalised online tuition and educational mentoring for young people at GCSE and A Level, with a particular focus on building confidence, developing independent learning skills and helping learners achieve their goals.
Alongside tuition, I have over a decade of experience working with young people across education, mentoring, widening participation, inclusion and educational access programmes. My work has included supporting care experienced young people, young carers, refugees and asylum seekers, learners with additional needs and those from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in education.
My approach is that everyone learns in their own way, and each individual is the expert on themselves. There is no single “right” path through education, and effective support starts with understanding the individual. Whether a student needs help mastering subject content, building confidence, developing study skills or navigating educational choices, sessions are tailored to their specific needs and goals. All sessions are collaborative from the get-go, with each individual being empowered to take charge of their own learning.
Alongside subject knowledge, I place a strong emphasis on encouraging learners to advocate for themselves, develop resilience and gain confidence in their own abilities. My aim is not simply to improve grades, but to help young people develop skills and self-belief that will support them long after our sessions have ended.

How It Works
Before any tuition begins, learners and their parents/carers are offered a free 30-minute consultation. This provides an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss goals and identify how support can best be tailored to the individual learner.
All tuition is delivered online via Google Meet, allowing learners to access support from the comfort of their own home.
Sessions include:
- One-to-one tailored tuition
- Individualised learning support
- Regular feedback
- Progress monitoring
- Termly review meetings with parents/carers where desired
Pricing
GCSE Tuition
- Pay-as-you-go: £65 per hour
- Monthly booking: £60 per hour
A Level Tuition
- Pay-as-you-go: £75 per hour
- Monthly booking: £70 per hour
There are no long-term contracts or commitments. Learners and families remain in control of their support and can choose the arrangement that best suits their needs.
Support for care experienced and estranged learners
Academic Hope is proud to be a Friend of Foster Families.
Reduced-cost tuition and a sliding-scale pricing model are available for looked after children, care experienced young people (including adopted young people) and estranged learners.
I believe educational support should be accessible to those who need it most and am always happy to discuss individual circumstances during the consultation process.
Sibling Discounts
Where multiple siblings receive tuition, the following discounts apply:
- Second child: 10% discount
- Third and subsequent children: 5% discount
Families are not just defined by blood, and neither is the sibling discount. I recognise families are as unique as each individual learner, and so the sibling discount is applied regardless of living situation or types of siblings. If the sessions and payments are managed by one parent/carer for multiple learners, then the sibling discount will apply.
Referral Scheme
If an existing family refers a new learner who successfully enrols and completes one month of tuition, a 10% discount will be applied to the next month’s tuition block as a thank you.
